Line of Duty series 6 episode 2 photos tease secret Steve Arnott meeting as mystery mounts
New pictures from series six episode two of Line of Duty hint at a secret meeting involving DS Steve Arnott (Martin Compston) as mystery continues to mount in the police procedural.
In episode one of the new series of the BBC drama, AC-12’s Steve wishes to find out more about newcomer DCI Joanne Davidson (Kelly Macdonald), the enigmatic officer in charge with investigating the murder of journalist Gail Vella.
DI Kate Fleming (Vicky McClure), a former AC-12 officer, is now a member of Joanne’s team, having decided to step away from her previous career path of uncovering corrupt police officers.
In an effort to obtain more information on the murder case, Steve reaches out to his former colleague Kate, with the pair finally coming face-to-face again in a not-so-subtle car meet-up.
It appears the second episode of the new series will see Steve take part in yet another covert meeting, as a photograph from the upcoming instalment shows him standing in a graffiti-covered underpass… as he seemingly awaits the arrival of his acquaintance.
Another photo shows him standing in his office, a steely expression on his face as a troubling thought is clearly playing on his mind.
In the first episode of the new series, Kate and Joanne share several bonding moments, despite Joanne’s true nature remaining somewhat of a question mark.
Another image from episode two shows Kate watching Joanne closely as her boss reads over some paperwork.
But is Kate starting to doubt Joanne – or will they become even closer while working together on the case?
Following his introduction in the 2019 fifth series of Line of Duty, Ace Bhatti is set to return as PCC Rohan Sindwhani.
The second episode will also feature further appearances from Elizabeth Rider as DCC Andrea Wise and Perry Fitzpatrick as DS Chris Lomax.
One of the biggest questions on everyone’s lips amid Line of Duty’s return has been who ‘H’ really is, a corrupt senior police office with ties to criminal gangs.
At the end of series five, it was revealed that H is not just one person, but actually four, three of whom have been uncovered: Derek Hilton (Paul Higgins), Gill Biggeloe (Polly Walker) and Dot Cottan (Craig Parkinson).
That means that there is supposedly still one individual out there yet to be apprehended.
Following episode one of the new season, several fans came to the conclusion that they’d sussed out H for good.
After spotting golf clubs in the office of DCI Ian Buckells (Nigel Boyle), this prompted some viewers to accuse him of being the elusive criminal.
So do you agree with the theory?
Line of Duty returns on Sunday at 9pm on BBC One.
