The latest chapter of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s story – aka Megxit – is being made into a Lifetime TV movie titled Harry & Meghan: Escaping the Palace.

For those who don’t know, the royal couple’s love story and Meghan’s introduction to royal life has already played out in two Lifetime films.

2018’s Harry & Meghan chronicled the newlyweds’ love story, and 2019’s Harry & Meghan: Becoming Royal looked at their experiences inside the Royal Family during their first year of marriage.

In fact, the latest film will basically the third addition to the ‘Harry & Meghan Creative Universe’, and is yet another TV movie about the royals from the network.

In the wake of Oprah Winfrey’s bombshell interview with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Lifetime has greenlit the project which promises to ‘reveal what ultimately lead to the couple’s break from the royal family.’

The full logline teases: ‘Harry & Meghan: Escaping the Palace reveals what really happened inside the palace that drove Harry and Meghan to leave everything behind in order to make a future for themselves and their son Archie.

‘The movie will detail Meghan’s growing isolation and sadness, their disappointment that “The Firm” was not defending them against the press’s attacks and Harry’s fear that history would repeat itself and he would not be able to protect his wife and son from the same forces that caused his mother’s untimely death.’

It continues: ‘Harry & Meghan: Escaping the Palace will also reveal the private family feuds between Will and Harry, Kate and Meghan, and Harry with Will and Charles, that lead to the ultimate break from the royal ties.’

Casting is currently underway and production will begin this spring, with hopes for the film to air this fall.

The first two films featured different actors playing the lead roles so time will tell if familiar faces will return, or a new star will get the chance to play the couple.

Menhaj Huda, who directed the first two films, is back behind the camera, while Scarlett Lacey – who co-wrote the previous film- is back to write the screenplay.

We cannot wait.
