The View alum Sherri Shepherd says Sharon Osbourne ‘crossed a line’ on The Talk during heated Sheryl Underwood row
Former The View co-host Sherri Shepherd has weighed in on Sharon Osbourne’s heated The Talk row with Sheryl Underwood, calling out the 68-year-old for her actions.
The daytime talk show remains on hiatus after an investigation was launched following Osbourne’s heated on-air clash with Underwood, and subsequent claims about her conduct on set – which Osbourne has denied.
Speaking to Yahoo Entertainment, the 53-year-old presenter shared her thoughts about the pair’s argument.
She stated: ‘It crosses a line when you’re a grownup and somebody tells you what you can and cannot do emotionally.’
Her comment was in reference to the moment when Osbourne shouted at Underwood, ‘don’t try and cry, ’cause if anyone should be crying, it should be me’.
Shepherd continued: ‘This is a job for me, the way it is for you. So how dare you tell me how I can act? I think that was definitely crossing the line.’
Shepherd also voiced her admiration for Underwood keeping her cool, noting that ‘she had to speak in very slow and measured terms, and to talk to Sharon while Sharon was going off.
‘I think that’s a hard thing to have a woman talk to you in that kind of way. As well as a trigger for a lot of women who have to be in this situation of someone treating you like you’re less than.’
Shepherd also touched on subsequent allegations — including one on the record from former Talk co-host Leah Remini — claiming that Osbourne had used racist language in the past to describe former co-hosts Julie Chen and Holly Robinson-Peete.
Osbourne has denied those allegations but Shepherd stated that the evidence seemed ‘pretty damning’.
She continued: ‘It’s a little bit hard to say, “I’m not racist,” when you get other reports from credible people.
‘People see you defending [Morgan], who has made comments that were racial in nature … That’s a little bit hypocritical. I think every situation is different. I really do. And that’s why they’re having an investigation.’

The US chat show hit the headlines when the former X Factor judge yelled at Underwood after broadcaster Piers Morgan questioned Meghan Markle’s explosive claims about life as a royal during her Oprah Winfrey interview.
Following Sharon and Sheryl’s spat, it was announced The Talk would be taken off the air while channel CBS investigated the matter.
Shortly after, allegations against Sharon that she used a racist slur towards former co-host and executive producer Julie Chen.
Ex co-host Holly Robinson Peete also claimed Sharon had called her too ‘ghetto’ to be on the series.
Osbourne has denied all claims, accusing CBS executives of setting up the segment in which she fought with Underwood.
