UFC Legend Lashes Out at Mike Tyson for Negotiating a Contract With Evander Holyfield
A day ago, Mike Tyson confirmed the Evander Holyfield trilogy for May 29. The duo will fight each other in an exhibition clash, just like Tyson’s previous bout with Roy Jones Jr. Ever since this fight got announced, it stirred the combat sports fraternity, putting the fans into a frenzy.
However, the former UFC star, Chael Sonnen, seemed unimpressed with ‘Iron’ Mike’s notion of negotiating a contract with Evander Holyfield for a trilogy.
In his own podcast channel, Sonnen lashed out at Tyson saying, “This was charity that we did for you in the first place (Roy Jones Jr. fight). I realize it did very good numbers when you and Roy did whatever it was.”
“But not if you try to turn the gun, not if you become unaware and think that you’re going to go have a proper negotiation with some guy whose ear you bit off at a time before most of the viewers weren’t even alive. This starts to get a little bit ridiculous.”
Chael Sonnen fired at Mike Tyson for lacing up the boxing gloves yet again after his last exhibition bout. He feels Tyson’s fight with ‘Captain Hook’ did exceptionally well because the world was stuck in the clutches of the global pandemic.
The combat sports fraternity wanted some cosmic in-ring entertainment. And that’s how the Tyson vs Jones Jr. fight garnered astonishing PPV buys.

Despite all the criticisms and backlash, Tyson and Holyfield are thrilled to fight each other. The world witnessed what happened in the first two bouts between them, and the trilogy will have the same anticipation this time.
Tyson and Holyfield are the two most elite stars of boxing who accrued vast stardom in the retro boxing era.
None of the heavyweight fighters could match the magnetic aura as these two and they’re re going super-strong with the same until today.
There’s a sea of an audience waiting for this duo to take up the ring space. It will be interesting to see who comes out on top on May 29.
