Deshayla ‘Shay’ Harris, one of the stars of reality show Bad Girls Club, has been killed aged 28 in a shooting incident in Virginia Beach in Virginia, US.

On Friday March 26, three separate shooting events occurred at Virginia Beach Oceanfront.

A day later, the Virginia Beach Police Department released a statement confirming that Deshayla was one of the two people killed as a result of the shootings, with 10 individuals injured in total.

The police department outlined that all three shooting incidents remain under investigation, ‘with plans for increased police coverage through the remainder of the weekend’.

Confirming that Deshayla was one of the victims of the shootings, the police stated: ‘Harris was a bystander at the second shooting incident that occurred in the 300 block of 19th Street.’

There were no fatalities in the first incident, while a 25-year-old man was killed in the third shooting.

Three individuals have been arrested and charged in connection to the shootings and are being held in custody at Virginia Beach City Jail.

Following the news of Deshayla’s death, tributes have been pouring in for the reality star.

She appeared on the 17th season of Bad Girls Club, a programme created by the Oxygen network in the US that saw a group of strong-willed women placed in a house together.

Kiyanna Bygrave, one of Deshayla’s co-stars on the show, posted a statement on Instagram that read: ‘Rest in heaven to my fellow bad girls club castmate Deshayla who was hit by a stray bullet from the mass shooting in Virginia Beach.

‘My heart is shaking right now. You didn’t deserve this at all, I can’t believe that this is even true Shay.

‘Please god take her in your arms and hold her tight. God please watch over her family and friends. This is truly horrendous and unimaginable. RIP BABYGIRL FLY HIGH.’

Bad Girls Club’s Keyaira Hamilton also shared a tribute on Instagram, revealing that she last spoke to her former co-star three days.

‘Rest easy Babygirl @missshaybae thank you for always pushing me and supporting me no matter where we were in our friendship…watch over me. I love you,’ she said.
