Chet Hanks has claimed it’s going to be a ‘white boy summer’ in an intriguing new video.

The actor and musician, who has faced backlash in the past for speaking in Patois, took to Instagram to ask if everyone could ‘vibe’ with his idea.

‘Okay guys, look I just wanted to tap in really quick,’ he began. ‘I just got this feeling, man, that this summer is about to be a white boy summer, you know? Take it how you want.

‘I’m not talking about Trump, you know, NASCAR type white. I’m talking about me, Jon B, Jack Harlow type white boy summer.

‘Let me know if you guys can vibe with that and get ready, because I am.’

Chet captioned his video: ‘Is it bout to be a #WhiteboySummer or am I trippin ???? Tag a REAL vanilla king #Respectfully 😂😂😂’.

Safe to say, people are not vibing, and they’re definitely not getting ready.

Chet’s father, Forrest Gump actor Tom, started trending on Twitter, with one viewer writing: ‘I physically can not imagine Chet Hanks and Tom Hanks talking to eachother.’

‘Chet Hanks is proof that you can do everything right in the world and kids will still embarrass tf outta you,’ another said.

‘I don’t know what Chet Hanks is talking about,’ another pointed out. ‘White boy summer is when you stay inside for 3 months to avoid sunburn.’

One more shared the video, simply writing: ‘I will never stop screaming.’

The 30-year-old previously came under fire for speaking in Patois, with some people confronting him when he joined the Clubhouse app.

Chet opened a ‘room’ with the title ‘All Love’ but the topic quickly became heated in a debate about his preference to speak in Patois in his social media posts.

‘You’re asking me am I ever going to do a Jamaican accent again,’ Chet began his explanation to listeners on the audio-only app.

One listener challenged: ‘When you’re in an environment where there are no Jamaicans, no people that understand or are sympathetic to the Caribbean or Jamaicans at all, are you going to walk into a room of people and just use it?’

Chet then responded: ‘Guys, it’s really as simple as this. If I get on a binge where I’m watching a bunch of English gangster movies and I’m going around my day-to-day just ordering a coffee at Starbucks with my friend and I go [in English accent]: “Oi, gimme a latte governor”, it’s not coming from a place where I go I’m going to s**t on these English people.’
