Former New England Patriots Teammate Calls Jimmy Garoppolo a ‘Winner’
Jimmy Garoppolo spent a good chunk of his career with Bill Belichick’s New England Patriots before moving to The Bay. The AFC East big boys drafted the young quarterback prospect in the second round of the 2014 NFL Draft (62nd overall). Jimmy G played backup to the legendary Tom Brady during his stay in New England, winning two Super Bowl medals.
He started just two games for the Patriots before moving to the San Francisco 49ers in 2017. However, Garoppolo has dealt with his fair share of injury struggles during his time in the NFL. The only season where he had double-digit starting figures came in 2019 when the 49ers made it all the way to the Super Bowl.
He was on the sidelines for the most part of the 2020 NFL season but a certain former teammate believes Jimmy G is nothing but a ‘winner’.

Kyle Van Noy reveals Jimmy Garoppolo is someone who ‘gets the job done’
“1st of all Jimmy’s a lady’s man..
Secondly I think everyone focuses on that.. He’s a gamer. I don’t think he gets enough credit for that…
He’s a winner. He gets the job done. It might not always be pretty”@KVN_03 on former teammate Jimmy G #PatMcAfeeShowLIVE pic.twitter.com/UToFumjIuT

Veteran NFL linebacker Kyle Van Noy who recently returned to the New England Patriots was a guest on the latest installment of The Pat McAfee Show. He gave a shoutout to former Pats buddy, Jimmy G, who is gearing up for a comeback season with the Red and Gold in 2021.
He said, “Yeah, well, first of all, Jimmy’s a ladies’ man. He’s, you know, I think everybody focuses on that, he’s a gamer. And I don’t think he gets enough credit for that everywhere he’s gone. I know he’s played through injuries and things like that, but he’s won. Look at what San Francisco was before he got there.”
“He won. Look at the time he spent in New England, he won. So you can say whatever you want about him, he’s a winner. He gets the job done and might not always be pretty and might not be all that everyone wants but he gets the job done and that’s what you want. I mean, he went to the Super Bowl. So that speaks volume of what he can bring to the table if he’s on a good football team,” Van Noy said on the show.
Garoppolo featured in just six games last season, throwing for 1,096 with 7 passing TDs against 5 interceptions. He will need to step up his game if he wants to remain in the long-term plans of coach Kyle Shanahan and GM John Lynch.
This is the make-or-break season for Jimmy G, can he silence his critics? Tell us what you think in the comments below.
