Jake Quickenden has hit out at cruel trolls who branded his baby boy ‘ugly as f**k’.

The former I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! runner-up, 32, became a father for the first time last month after his partner Sophie Church, 27, gave birth to son Leo Oliver.

And the singer, who rose to fame as a contestant on The X Factor in 2014, has been proudly sharing pictures of the newborn on social media in recent weeks.

But some of his followers haven’t been kind after seeing the snaps on Instagram, saying his child ‘needs botox’ and is ‘weird looking’.

Posting an image of Oliver online, Jake lashed out, writing: ‘REAL POST… So in the past week this little man has been told he needs Botox, that he’s ugly as f**k and that he’s weird looking, me myself have also been told stay off social media if you don’t want to be trolled.

‘It’s so baffling to me that I should have to stay off social media if I don’t want my four-week-old trolled.

‘I don’t mind people giving me s**t, as sad as it is I’ve had to get used to being called “irrelevant“, “ugly“, “attention seeking“ and the list goes on but to troll an innocent child is so wrong and the people doing it seriously need to seek help.’

Jake said that he was shocked by the ‘thought process of some people’, insisting he would stand his ground on the web.

He continued: ‘Maybe people just shouldn’t troll. I enjoy social media it’s full of lovely people who are supportive and I like sharing my ups and downs.

‘I try and be real as possible, but unfortunately there is a dark side of social media and something needs doing about it.’

The reality star was inundated with supportive comments from fans, telling him his son was ‘beautiful’ and that he should ignore ‘attention seeking idiots’.

One follower commented: ‘Your baby is a beautiful little boy. Please, please ignore those nasty trolls who are just bullies and have nothing better to do with their time. They get off on hurting others #justbekind.’

Jake’s girlfriend Sophie gave birth to Leo last month in the early hours of the morning at Colchester Hospital.

Sharing the happy news with his devotees online at the time, Jake wrote: ‘IT’S A BOY! Meet Leo Oliver Quickenden.

‘I am so overwhelmed right now, but first I want to say, “Sophie, you’re amazing and watching you during all this made me love you even more, I already know you’re an amazing mum and cannot wait to raise this beautiful little baby with you!”’

Sophie is already mother to son Freddie, six, from a previous relationship and she and Jake are taking part in new MTV show Celebrity Bumps: Famous and Pregnant.
