Tom Daley’s husband has taken the mickey out of his shirtless crochet video on Instagram, dubbing it ‘thirsty’.
The Olympic diver, 26, is married to American screenwriter Dustin Lance Black, 46, who wasn’t having any of Tom’s excuses as to why he was ‘knitting’ without a top on.
Tom shared a video on Instagram of him crocheting a multicoloured piece, telling his followers: ‘If you’ve ever wondered what an Olympian gets up to when he gets home from training and has five minutes to himself…
‘Oh no, Lance is coming up the stairs and he’s going to see me talking to myself while I’m sitting here crocheting because I am absolutely living for it at the minute.
‘Sorry Lance, I’m talking to the camera. Well, to Instagram. Say hi to Instagram.’
Lance replied: ‘Hi Instagram, is this a thirsty knitting video?’, to which Tom responded: ‘It’s blooming boiling!’
His husband then retorted: ‘Oh yeah, it’s sooo hot in the UK… wow. Thirsty!’
Tom replied: ‘That’s enough,’ as he looked off-camera at where Lance was standing out of shot.
Lance being protective of Tom’s thirst traps is probably just so his mother doesn’t end up watching them as he previously joked that she’d searched for photos of Tom in his Speedos.
Appearing on Lorraine in 2019, Lance joked: ‘I wondered if my mum liked him or not because she didn’t like my boyfriends before him.’
This this happened… I found her in bed on her iPad one night, I looked at what she had been searching and it was pictures of Tom in his Speedos.
‘Like mother like son… So I think I got her stamp of approval on Tom.’
Tom and Lance got engaged in 2015 and married in 2017 and share a two-year-old son, Robbie, who was born via a surrogate in 2018.
