Emma and Matt Willis have trained to become volunteers during the roll-out of Covid-19 vaccinations in the UK.

The couple, who have been married since 2008, shared the news on Instagram on Sunday after they completed the all-important training.

Busted star Matt posted a photo of them together, wearing face masks and green St John Ambulance T-shirts.

The dad-of-three called it a ‘rewarding’ experience adding that they ‘can’t wait for the first shift’ now they’ve been shown the ropes.

He wrote: ‘We did it… coming to a vaccination centre near you… thanks so much @stjohn_ambulance for all your incredible help and training.. it has been so challenging and rewarding already and we have only just begun… cannot wait for the first shift!’

TV presenter Emma added her own thoughts on Instagram and thanked staff for an ‘informative and fun’ training period.

‘Today @mattjwillis and I spent the day finishing our training with @stjohn_ambulance to become part of their vaccination volunteer programme,’ she said on social media.

‘Thank you so much to the whole team who guided and taught us and for making it informative AND fun! What a brilliant bunch of good eggs. Bring on the first shift!!’

Other celebrities who have volunteered their services during the roll-out include presenter Vernon Kay and Downton Abbey star Hugh Bonneville.

As of Friday, 29,727,435 Brits had received their first dose of an Oxford or Pfizer jab and 3,293,517 had their second. This means 56.4% of adults have had a jab.

From tomorrow the UK will begin to head towards easing lockdown restrictions, which will include allowing people to meet in groups of six or in two households.
