Rochelle Humes is host of Dispatches: Black Maternity Scandal documentary, exploring an issue close to her heart as a mother herself.

The Channel 4 documentary will explore the high mortality rate for Black and mixed race women in the UK, which is said to be around four times higher than white women giving birth.

The This Morning presenter had to delay filming as she was pregnant with her son Blake last year and found the topic ‘too heavy’ to tackle while expecting a baby.

Who is Rochelle Humes’ husband?

Rochelle, 32, is married to JLS singer and Capital Radio DJ Marvin Humes. The couple got engaged in 2011 during a romantic holiday in Antigua and are approaching their ninth wedding anniversary.

How many children does Rochelle and Marvin Humes have?

They welcomed their first child, daughter Alaia-May (now seven), on May 20, 2013, and their second daughter, Valentina Raine, on March 10, 2017 (now four).

Rochelle and Marvin, 36, decided to protect their children’s privacy and kept their faces hidden on social media until January 2020, when they did a big reveal.

Explaining their decision to make their daughters’ identities public, Rochelle wrote in an Instagram post: ‘Our girls. I think it would be weird for me to post this without saying anything…but we’ve made the choice to share a little bit more of our family.

‘Alaia is aware of social media now (gulp) and she often asks why her cousins and other family are featured but not her and to be honest, we don’t really have the answer…Obviously it was coming from a place of protection maybe to a fault, let’s face it none of us really have this figured out..

‘So here they are our babies, they won’t be on here often but thought you might like to meet them.. Please be kind.’

Rochelle and Marvin completed their family with the arrival of their son, Blake, on October 9, 2020.

Dispatches: The Black Maternity Scandal airs on Channel 4 on Monday at 8pm.
