Cynthia and Aaron were announced as the third place getters and before Sophie announced the final winners, she asked Josh how she felt about Anna.

“I do love Anna,” he said as the host revealed, “stop, I’m getting goosebumps”.

A speechless Anna grinned from ear to ear, and then smiled further when they were named winners of Love Island Australia.

“Usually I never stop speaking, but now I’m speechless,” she said breathlessly.

Then a twist came that saw one of them choose $50,000 or love[/caption]

But in an Aussie twist, the pair were given two envelopes and would have to choose between love or money.

One envelope would contain $0 and the other $50,000 (£27,732), with whoever getting the money choosing between ‘love’ and splitting the money with their partner, or keeping it all for themselves.

Anna got the envelope with $0, but Josh managed to get the big bucks and faced a huge decision.

“Josh, that $50,000 is yours,” said Sophie. “Choose money and you can leave with all of it. Choose love, and you will share it with Anna.”

“I’m definitely not the smartest bloke in the world,” began Josh. “But I’m no fool either. I’ll be choosing love every day.”

“Love wins,” Sophie declared as the series came to a close.
