Millie Bobby Brown ‘barked like dog and sang between takes’ on Godzilla vs Kong set, co-stars reveal

Millie Bobby Brown lived her very best life on the set of Godzilla vs Kong, her co-stars revealed.

The Stranger Things actress took on the role of Madison Russell in the blockbuster, which saw two of the biggest on screen monsters do battle.

But, while things in front of the camera were tense, the 17-year-old did her best to lighten the mood between takes – singing with her castmates and even barking like a dog.

Yes, seriously.

Chatting to Metro.co.uk ahead of the release of the action flick, which is available to rent at home from April 1, Brian Tyree Henry and Julian Dennison couldn’t help but rave about the teenager.

Brian, who plays Bernie Hayes, told us: ‘Here’s the thing, Millie is so in the moment, and Millie is also a great singer. She likes to sing, so she’ll sing all the time.

‘Julian and I were like, “While we’re here, we might as well provide backup”.

‘We would have moments where we were singing, the skull had an amazing… It was the best like soundbooth cover. So we, in between takes, would literally sing our hearts out. It was a lot of fun.

‘She also likes to bark.’

Reflecting on their memories together, Julian, aka Josh Valentine, laughed: ‘I don’t know if that was like a moment for her, like a period of a time where she was just into barking.

‘But she would just bark like before a take, if she needed energy, she would just go, “woof, woof, woof, woof”.

‘I’ve seen a lot worse from actors.’

Fair play.

Talking of the skull, Brian was shocked that all of the iconic set pieces were actually to scale – and he definitely took full advantage of being able to mess around on them.

‘There are some moments where we’re really climbing on the skull, we’re climbing through the skull,’ he continued. ‘We were going to take full advantage of that because it’s like, “When are we ever going to climb on a skull again? When is that gonna happen?”

‘Forget about paying taxes for one minute and go and climb on a skull, which is what I did. I just played on every single set.

‘All of the sets were so immaculately built and detailed. There would be animal parts on one side and monsters on another.

‘You’ve got to have fun with that, and we made sure we did. We had a blast.’

Thankfully, fans won’t have to wait long to catch a glimpse of the gang in action when Godzilla vs. Kong drops this week.

The movie premiere of Godzilla vs. Kong will be available to rent at home from April 1.
