The Walking Dead Robert Kirkman creator got more than he bargained for during a recent fan Q&A, after facing savage criticism from fans.

The comic book writer, who created the hugely popular graphic novel the series is based on, was subject to harsh feedback from fans during a recent event on social media.

During a Reddit Ask Me Anything session, Robert was asked why the long-running drama was ‘so terrible’ by a disgruntled viewer.

Rather than being rattled by the comments, Robert said: ‘You’re certainly welcome to your opinion but thankfully millions of people do not share it.’

Adding to his classy reply, Robert said: ‘I highly recommend that you try Breaking Bad or Ozark or Stranger Things or Game of Thrones or Billions or Barry or Ted Lasso or See or The Boys or any number of other great TV shows out there if you don’t like The Walking Dead.’

Speaking about another of his comic book creations, Robert said: ‘You could even try Invincible on Amazon Prime right now.’

Robert created the Walking Dead comic book series with Tony Moore back in 2003. It was adapted for TV in 2010, becoming one of the most popular dramas on TV over the next decade.

Replying to another fan, Robert spoke about the end of the series, saying: ‘The Walking Dead is a universe now. I’d say season 11 is AN end, not THE end.’

Meanwhile, it was previously confirmed that The Walking Dead is set to finish after season 11.

Scott Gimple, Chief Content Officer, confirmed the news in a press release, explaining: ‘It’s been 10 years gone by; what lies ahead are two more to come and stories and stories to tell beyond that.’

Showrunner Angela Kang also recently spoke about what fans can expect from the remaining episodes, teasing viewers about the ‘new communities’ and ‘human drama’ they’ll encounter in the future.

It’s not the end of the franchise though. There’s also a Daryl and Carol spin-off on the way, with Norman set to reprise his role with Melissa McBride.

The Walking Dead seasons 1–10 are available on NOW TV and Sky On Demand.
