Ariana Grande fans freaking out as singer joins The Voice US as a coach: ‘This isn’t some advanced April Fools’ joke right?’
Ariana Grande fans are in disbelief after the pop star revealed she will be joining The Voice US as a coach for season 21.
Considering the fact the 27-year-old hitmaker is at the top of her game right now, some Ari stans couldn’t quite believe the fact she’s decided to take part in the NBC series.
The singing competition show is known for having amazing judges such as Kelly Clarkson, Miley Cyrus, Christina Aguilera, and Adam Levine over the years, however signing the 7 Rings singer has left viewers floored.
One fan commented on Instagram: ‘I had to check to make sure it wasn’t April Fools.’
Another tweeted: ‘wtfffff shes tooo famous?! this is like britney x factor era!! im excitedly uncomfortable!!!’
‘DID U GET HACKED OR SOMETHING WE NEED A VIDEO OF U SAYING THIS SO THAT WE KNOW IT IS TRUE.’
Another tweeted: ‘YOU LITERALLY GIVING US A HEART ATTACK AREN’T YOU’
‘wait- this is not some advanced april fools joke right?’ another quizzed.
One confused fan commented: ‘girl not this…you’re still in your post-imperial pop star phase, wait until you can barely reach a top 10 single with an album to go full talent show judge mode.’
As hard as it may be for some to believe, Ariana will be stepping in to replace Nick Jonas for the next series of the NBC singing competition show.
The 27-year-old announced the exciting news on Tuesday as she posted a snap of herself posing on the famous spinning chairs.
She wrote: ‘surprise !!! i am beyond thrilled, honored, excited to be joining @kellyclarkson @johnlegend @blakeshelton next season ~ season 21 of @nbcthevoice ! @nickjonas we will miss you.’
The official Instagram account for The Voice also shared the news with the cheeky caption: ‘Our new Coach’s name is Ari and we’re so good with that.’
Season 20 of The Voice US – with coaches Kelly Clarkson, Nick Jonas, John Legend, and Blake Shelton – continues on Mondays on NBC.
