Little Mix fans had their hearts melted on Celebrity Bake Off as Jade Thirlwall commemorated her girl group in biscuits – including Jesy Nelson.

Jesy quit the band in December 2020 to focus on her mental health, but at the time of filming, she was still a member of the group.

So Mixers were heartened to see this little, lemony biscuit reunion – even if it wasn’t a real one.

Jade created the band, completed by Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Perrie Edwards, as part of her showstopper challenge, where she was told to make a 3D biscuit and meringue piece for ‘something she couldn’t live without’.

Recreating a concert, Jade made fans out of meringue, the girls and the stage out of biscuits, and added a sugar screen to play behind them.

Paul was impressed with her efforts, calling them ‘ingenious’ and adding: ‘I like the idea of the screen and the revolving stage’.

As they snapped the biscuit Jade in half, Prue joked: ‘Paul’s going to eat your head, and I’m going to eat your knickers.’

‘I’m honoured,’ Jade laughed back.

Fans cheered on Jade for a job well done – but couldn’t help but feel a little nostalgic for a four-piece Little Mix with Jesy.

Jade ended up doing well in the challenges, impressing Paul and Prue with her efforts as she went up against KSI, Stacey Dooley and Katherine Ryan.

For the challenges, they had to make cocktail-inspired fondant fancies for the practical, a cherry lattice pie with custard for the technical, before recreating something they ‘couldn’t live without’ in the final showstopper.

The series was hosted in aid of raising money for Stand Up To Cancer.

The Celebrity Great British Bake Off continues Tuesdays at 8pm on Channel 4.
