Eamonn Holmes having physiotherapy as he battles chronic pain: ‘I’m determined to beat this’
Eammon Holmes has shared he is suffering from chronic pain, but is ‘determined’ not to let it hold him back.
It comes after the broadcaster opened up about how the pain kept him awake at night.
The TV presenter revealed he is having physiotherapy as he battled with ‘pain from the night before’ that was still troubling him.
He posted a picture on Twitter of himself face down on the physio’s table looking uncomfortable but stoic.
Eamonn thanks his followers for sharing their stories of living with chronic pain as they inspired him to ‘beat’ the condition.
The 61-year-old said: ‘Starting the day by tackling the pain from the night before ….. On the Physio table. Chronic pain . Just can’t get it to go away.
‘Sadly so many of you know the feeling. Thanks for sharing your stories.
‘I’m determined to beat this …however much it hurts.’
His colleagues and friends sent messages of support in the replies, with comedian Emily Atack writing: ‘Eamonnnnn…sending love x’ and This Morning soap reporter Sharon Marshall posted red love heart emoji.
Actress Samantha Giles posted: ‘Oh you poor thing how horrid. Hope you find some relief. Bowen technique is supposed to be miraculous for back pain x’.
According to the NHS, chronic pain is pain that continues for longer than 12 weeks despite medication or treatment.
Eamonn, who is married to This Morning co-host Ruth Langsford, previously wrote on social media about struggling to sleep and asked his fans for advice.
He described ‘the Twilight Zone between Night time and Morning’ were ‘the worst’ due to chronic pain.
