Huge wildfire erupts in Moray as firefighters race to battle blaze

FIREFIGHTERS were battling a huge wildfire in Moray tonight. 

The fierce flames threatened to get out of control near the village of Kingston.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue team fought to contain the blaze.

Six fire appliances and a wildlife unit were eventually called to the scene to tackle the inferno close to the small rural community.

A fire service spokeswoman confirmed they arrived on scene at 3.45pm today with an initial three appliances and a water carrier.

Firefighters were using two jets and two breathing apparatus as they attempted to put out the flames.
