Katie Piper has thanked fans for their support after revealing she’s back in hospital for surgery on her eyelid.
The TV presenter suffered severe injuries to her face and body when she was attacked with acid in 2008.
It emerged that the attack was orchestrated by her ex-boyfriend who was later jailed.
On Tuesday, Katie shared several Instagram stories of her sitting in a hospital bed wearing a gown.
Spreading positivity with her followers, she said cheerfully: ‘Morning lovely people, I have a very optimistic affirmation for you today. 30th March, what happened in the past is done with . It is the actions that you take next that will shape the rest of your life.
‘I think that’s a really exciting affirmation, knowing that there’s so much more in front of you than there is behind you. I think sometimes the past is best left where it belongs.’
After receiving DMs from concerned fans, Katie later added: ‘Thank-you for all the messages, I am fine. I’m having a planned operation to my eyelid. I’m having another skin graft to my right eye.’
Katie, 37, has undergone numerous surgical procedures in the years since the attack, which left her blind in one eye and with burns to the face.
Despite her harrowing ordeal, Katie recently said that she doesn’t feel upset about the constant medical treatment as she feels lucky to be alive.
‘You can look at it that way, or you can say, it’s extraordinary to be alive, because women who are acid attacked in other countries actually die,’ she told The Mirror in November.
‘They don’t have the NHS, and they don’t have the sophisticated medicine we have here. So I think, my heart would never sink, life is a gift that I’m still here.’
Katie has found happiness over the past decade after marrying carpenter Richard Sutton in 2015 and becoming a mum-of-two to daughters Belle Elizabeth, six, and Penelope Diane, three.
