Brit Awards 2021: BTS to take on Foo Fighters and Run The Jewels as international group category returns
BTS have landed a nomination at the Brit Awards as the international group award returns for 2021.
In 2019 it was announced that there would be less categories in the 2020 awards, with best international group, outstanding contribution to music and best British video being removed.
BTS’ fans, called Army, who were distraught at the septet missing out at the time will be celebrating the 2021 nominations then, as best international group has returned and the South Korean boy group are in the running.
Also up for the award are Foo Fighters, Run The Jewels, Haim and Fontaines DC.
Dua Lipa is leading the charge at this year’s Brits with nominations for female solo artist, British single and best album.
Little Mix meanwhile have scored their first Brit nomination as a trio, with Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall and Leigh-Anne Pinnock getting a nod for British group.
The ceremony, hosted by Jack Whitehall, will take place in May at London’s O2 Arena.
The K-pop group have been busy over the last year following the release of their latest album Map of the Soul: 7.
Since then the Fake Love singers – RM, Jin, Jimin, Suga, J-Hope, V and Jungkook – have scored a Grammy nomination and got to perform their chart-topping English language single Dynamite on the night.
