Line Of Duty’s Adrian Dunbar will be taking over Have I Got News For You as guest presenter next month as he makes his debut on the programme.

The Superintendent Ted Hastings star will be joined by guest panellists comedian Katherine Ryan and The Sunday Times’s Political Editor Tim Shipman as well as team captains Ian Hislop and Paul Merton.

The beloved actor is currently gracing television screens as the sixth chapter of Line Of Duty airs weekly on BBC One, with viewers currently determined to learn the truth about Kate Fleming (Vicky McClure) and whether she’s actually working undercover or not.

Adrian isn’t the only TV favourite to be confirmed to be sitting in the hot seat when the new series kicks off in April.

It’s also been announced that David Tennant will host the first episode, with the programme continuing to record in studio, with a virtual audience.

The other guest presenters for this upcoming chapter are yet to be revealed.

Last month, Reverend Richard Coles revealed that he was reprimanded by the church after letting out a ‘bad word’ on the panel show Have I Got News For You.

‘I once let out a bad word on Have I Got News For You,’ he said.

‘When I opened my email the next day, the first thing I saw was “Lambeth Palace complaint”. I’ve been a bit wary since.’

Adrian Dunbar’s Have I Got News For You takeover will air on Friday 16th April at 9pm on BBC One.
