Paul Gascoigne ‘returning to Italian I’m A Celeb’ despite dislocating shoulder
Paul Gascoigne is reportedly set to return to the Italian version of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! despite dislocating his shoulder during a trial.
The footballing legend was taken to hospital after injuring himself and being seen grasping his shoulder during a challenge with other stars of the series.
It was reported that Gazza, who is currently filming series Isola dei Famosi (Island Of The Famous) on the Caribbean island of Honduras – was taking part in a trial attempting to earn spaghetti with meatballs at the time.
Show bosses and insurers have now decided that the 53-year-old is fit to continue, according to The Sun.
It comes after Gazza appeared via video link from a hotel room earlier this week wearing a strap on his shoulder.
‘I’m doing ok,’ he assured fans. ‘The shoulder is so so but I hope to return.’
Paul was tasked with carrying a ball through a ditch and then wading under a cargo net before climbing a platform to score a basketball hoop in hopes of landing the meal during the task.
After the injury took place, co-host Massimiliano Rosolino reportedly then told viewers: ‘Paul is with the medics but the initial view is that he is not seriously hurt.’
He’s already won over viewers with tales from his football years – which included bringing an ostrich to a Tottenham Hotspurs game as a wind-up, and stealing a London bus.
The former footballer also had fans laughing after testing out his Italian while filming introductory videos for the show – with interesting results.
