Extreme Sisters is the new reality show coming to American TV channel TLC that may leave viewers feeling pretty uncomfortable if they unwisely choose to watch it with their siblings.

For many people, the relationships they have with their siblings are some of the most important connections they will ever have in their lives.

But what happens when sisterly love is taken to the extreme… with sisters sharing everything from razors and underwear to even boyfriends?

Extreme Sisters follows several sets of obsessively close sisters, interviewing them about their relationships and filming them as they go about their daily lives while attached at the hip.

In the trailer for the new series, one of the pairs of sisters states: ‘We shared the same room, we were always together and we always slept in the same bed.’

When a producer asks when they stopped sleeping in the same bed together, one of them responds: ‘We’re still doing it,’ before a clip is shown of one of the sisters in bed with her husband… with her sister in between them.

Another set of sisters in the programme – who say that they think of themselves as ‘one person’ – share the same boyfriend, who takes turns kissing each of them to make sure there’s no ‘jealousy’ in their relationships.

‘Sharing a boyfriend for us means we get to be together all the time,’ the sisters say, wearing the exact same outfit as they speak to the camera.

While the majority of the sisters seem as happy as can be spending every waking moment with each other, there is some building tension in some of the relationships.

After a clip in the trailer shows a pair of sisters meditating nude together in a wooded area, another scene follows where one of their partners states: ‘Their relationship is far from normal.’

One of the sisters later acknowledges that their bond is going through an unwelcome change, saying that her sister hasn’t been the same since she started dating her new boyfriend.

Howard Lee, president of TLC Streaming and Network Originals, said the ‘inseparable sisters’ in the show have bonds that ‘are raw, honest and perhaps a little unconventional’.

‘Their sibling kinship brings the meaning of sisterhood to a whole other level,’ he added.

You can say that again!

Extreme Sisters premieres in the US on Sunday April 25 at 10pm ET/PT on TLC.
