April Fools’ Day 2021 LIVE – Best jokes and pranks as they happen… just make sure YOU don’t fall for any

DESPITE the fact it rolls around every 12 months – millions of people still fall for April Fools’ jokes each year.

And 2021 will be no exception.

After a torrid year we could all do with a bit of a laugh, so The Sun has decided to gather together all the best jokes and pranks we’ve spotted this April Fools’.

Everybody from celebs to major corporate firms seem to be getting in on the act this year.

And in classic 2021 fashion furious backlash and grovelling apologies are already flying around.

Volkswagen were forced to say sorry this morning after making a joke last night that their US branch had changed its name to VoltsWagen of America in a stunt designed to promote their new electric car.

The prank left many furious, however, as it comes after the Dieselgate scandal in which the car firm cheated world emissions-testing at a cost to the company of more than $30bn – forcing VW to make a grovelling apology.

Thankfully not every joke has backfired so badly.
