Cat Deeley has confessed she’s totally ‘terrified’ to fill in for Lorraine Kelly on her ITV daytime programme next week.
The SMTV presenter will be taking over the reins to host the show every day from Monday April 5 until Friday April 9, live from the ITV Studios and she’s a little nervous.
Speaking to Cat on today’s episode, Lorraine said: ‘I’m so glad you can do this! I think, obviously, you’ll be brilliant.’
‘I hope I’m just half as good as you Lorraine,’ Cat replied, before saying: ‘I’m a little bit terrified, I mean I haven’t even really properly dressed from the waist down since goodness knows when.’
Lorraine added: ‘You’ll have some fantastic fun. We’ve got some fantastic guests lined up.’
Guests confirmed with Cat for next week include her being reunited with Louise Redknapp – her best friend from the SMTV Cat The Dog sketch.
She’ll also be joined by Stacey Solomon, who’ll discuss her new Tap For Tidy book, singer Tom Odell, who’ll talk about his new album and Fred Siriexon his new series of Snackmasters.
Ahead of appearing on today’s show, Cat said of her takeover: ‘Lorraine has kindly entrusted me with her show while she has a break over Easter.
‘I’m so happy to be back at ITV for the coming week and looking forward to meeting some people I’ve wanted to interview for sometime and also welcoming some old friends on air.’
Victoria Kennedy, Editor of ITV’s Lorraine, added: ‘Not only has lockdown in the UK begun to ease, now next week the lovely Cat Deeley will take to the helm of Lorraine, providing viewers at home with some much needed Easter enjoyment.
‘As a huge fan of SMTV back in the day, I’m more than just a bit delighted! And of course we look forward to welcoming Ranvir back too. We’ve got a great line-up of Easter guests joining us.’
Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV.
