Eamonn Holmes has revealed that he is in hospital suffering pain unlike anything he has ever experienced in his life.

In a post shared on Twitter and Instagram, the TV presenter told his followers that he has gone to hospital to get checked out after suffering severe pain.

Sharing a selfie of himself wearing a mask, the 61-year-old tweeted: ‘At hospital… pain like I’ve never experienced in my life. Need to find out what’s causing this. Wish me well.’

He previously shared on social media that he had been experiencing chronic pain, to the extent that it was disturbing his sleep.

Several of his social media followers wished him a speedy recovery, with one person writing: ‘Thinking of you Eamonn, I hope they can get to the bottom of what’s going on.’

Another said: ‘We’re virtually with you Sir.. Best wishes and your now in the best of hands.. I hope you get your answers and resolved.’

Several stars also reached out to Eamonn to offer him comfort while he tries to get to the bottom of what’s at the route of his discomfort.

‘Get well darling. Sending lots of love,’ wrote TV personality Lizzie Cundy on Instagram.

‘Oh im so sorry. Sending you lots of love,’ tweeted 2016 Great British Bake Off winner Candice Brown.

In the early hours of this morning, Eamonn revealed that he only managed to get around 90 minutes sleep before being woken up due to the pain he was feeling.

‘Don’t know about u but I got 90 mins tonight before the pain woke me up,’ he wrote, reaching out to other people who suffer from chronic pain using the #chronicpain hashtag.

‘I just want to say Twitter can rightly be criticised… yet here through sharing the common but not talked about experience of #ChronicPain we r giving each other support. Let’s keep talking Tweeters.’

Earlier this week, Eamonn opened up about undergoing physiotherapy in an effort to lessen his chronic pain symptoms.

Sharing a photo of himself lying face down on a physio table, he wrote: ‘Starting the day by tackling the pain from the night before… On the Physio table. Chronic pain. Just can’t get it to go away.

‘Sadly so many of you know the feeling. Thanks for sharing your stories. I’m determined to beat this… however much it hurts.’
