Michelle Heaton has shared her positive Covid-19 result on social media to hit back at followers who accused her of ‘lying’ as she urged people to have the vaccine.

The Liberty X star posted a screen grab on Instagram of the NHS text she received after her test last month, saying she was ‘playing along’ with the people that didn’t believe her.

Michelle, who is currently isolating and recently had the vaccine, wrote alongside it: ‘Not that I need to …. I’m too bloody old to care but hey ho, I’m in isolation for another 5 days so nothing else to do but play along!

‘Knock you’re selves out (sic)…As if I’d lie lol.’

Her fans sent supportive replies and expressed anger on her behalf.

One said: ‘You don’t need to explain to anyone. Hope you’re feeling ok.’

Another wrote: ‘Omg why would people think you’d lie… I hope you and your family are all ok xx’

One comment read: ‘Shouldn’t have to prove anything I have seen so many people called liars when they have said they are covid positive. Wishing you a speedy recovery’, while another said: ‘Honestly what is wrong with some people!!!’

‘People are so strange and some are clearly not particularly intelligent!!’ read another reply.

It comes after she revealed her family had the virus after being randomly tested as part of a medical trial they are participating in, and stressed people should get the vaccine.

The 41-year-old said: ‘Yesterday we found out that ALL four of us are Covid positive, after being randomly selected last year as part of the Oxford trail we regularly get tested, negative every week, until now!

We know we don’t need to alert the world lol , however, it’s an opportunity to praise the #NHS. They spent the whole day reassuring us and meticulously covering all grounds of where one of us could have got it, also who could get it from us.

‘Now that we have spoken to those who needed to be alerted … we wanted to say THANK YOU to the NHS! @nhsengland. And to to say #getthejab.’

She continued: ‘I had the (Pfizer) jab a month ago – PROVING (NOT that it doesn’t work) but that we must ALL still be careful!

‘Without my first jab, the NHS nurses I spoke to yesterday said thank god I accepted it, as a person with many underlying health issues I could have been a lot worse, or may be hospitalised – I’m doing OK, enough strength to tell the kids off anyway 😒 and they are taking this news so well so proud of them both considering this week we were going to start with friends and bbq’s!

‘As kids go back to school and we start to see more people, we really need to face that some of us are going to get it ..

S’o, as I fall back asleep and get my husband more paracetamol from the draw …. let’s all support our amazing #nhs.’

Around 30 million people have received their first coronavirus vaccination in the UK, with the over 50s currently being encouraged to book.
