Strictly Come Dancing star Greg Rutherford has announced the arrival of this third child with fiancee Sophie Verrill.

The Olympian shared the news on Thursday with a sweet photo of their little baby girl’s feet.

He did not share any details about the birth, including her name, but captioned the image: ‘Family complete ❤️ what an incredible week it’s been.’

Greg was showered with congratulations from his celebrity pals, with Strictly professional dancer Oti Mabuse commenting: ‘Big big congratulations 🎉🥳🧡🔥 so happy for you and your family ❤.’

Girls Aloud singer Kimberley Walsh, who is currently pregnant herself, said: ‘Congratulations! 💞.’

Loose Women star Sair Khan chimed in: ‘She’s here!!! Massive congratulations Greggy!!! Hope Susie is doing well. Over the moon for you both! ❤️.’

Rebecca Adlington commented: ‘Huge congratulations to you and @susiejverrill ! Hope everyone is doing well xx.’

Fred Sirieux wrote: ‘Bravo to you all 👏👏.’

It seems all the excitement of the arrival worked up an appetite for Greg as, around the same time of the announcement, he posted a snap of his Nando’s takeaway.

Sophie shared an adorable video of the newborn’s feet gently kicking and told her followers: ‘We’ve been settling in with the new arrival at home for a few days now and couldn’t be happier ❤️. Baby spam will no doubt be imminent but in the meantime here’s some freshly born tootsies.’

It comes weeks after Greg revealed he and Sophie suffered a scare when the baby stopped moving, prompting them to rush her to hospital.

Greg explained to his followers at the time: ‘Susie suddenly realised she hadn’t felt the baby move in a while. We went through all the steps to try and make her move and nothing happened.

‘The worry was caused by the fact that normally she doesn’t stop moving! We jumped in the car and headed to the hospital. They found the heartbeat and then in typical fashion, she kicked!’

He added: ‘I almost cried when the heartbeat was found. The stress of being pregnant never gets any easier.’

The couple announced they were expecting their third child in December and are already parents to sons Milo, six, and Rex, three. They met in 2012 and got engaged in May 2019.
