Will Chris Jericho Lead the Inner Circle into Another Stadium Stampede Match Against The Pinnacle?

Last year, the Elite and the Inner Circle put on one of the best matches ever seen, with no fans watching. The Stadium Stampede match from Double or Nothing 2020 was one of the most ingenious inventions and provided a ton of entertainment. With a new rivalry against the Pinnacle brewing, will Chris Jericho lead his men into another Stadium Stampede match?

2020s Stadium Stampede was a tremendous success

AEW’s proven to be great at putting on gimmick matches. From this week’s Arcade Anarchy to the Light’s Out matches, gimmick matches add a layer of excitement to AEW’s product. They’ve even matched WWE in the cinematic match department with the Street Fight from Revolution stealing the show.

Despite the competition, AEW’s Stadium Stampede match remains one of the most entertaining matches of all time. The Elite and the Inner Circle clashed in what was 34 minutes of pure joy. The finish saw Kenny Omega flatten Sammy Guevara with the One Winged Angel from the rafters.

Some might call it the highest point of AEW’s 2020, but some view it as a regular attraction. With restrictions in place for Double or Nothing 2021 as well, it calls for another edition of Stadium Stampede.

Chris Jericho and Inner Circle vs MJF and The Pinnacle: Stadium Stampede?

On Dynamite, the Inner Circle returned to take revenge on the Pinnacle for putting them out of action. They took out each member of the new faction before reclaiming their dressing room. Jericho even stuffed MJF’s head down a toilet.

MJF and his stablemates will not take this silently and will fight back. This build, layered with intense promos, backstage brawls and preliminary matches, could lead to an epic five on five showdown. And what better place for a 5v5 showdown than the TIAA Bank Field, home of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Will Chris Jericho emerge victorious this time?

Last year, Chris Jericho suffered an enormous loss at Double or Nothing despite entering an impressive performance. This year, the odds might be in his favour, given his faction is the babyface in this rivalry.

MJF and the Pinnacle do not look like they’ll be teaming up together for much longer and might be a temporary stable only. FTR work better with Tully Blanchard in their corner as a standalone tag team, and Wardlow deserves a singles run. As for MJF, his run to reach the top of AEW should be solo and not on the coattails of WWE rejects Shawn Spears and FTR.
