The Friends reuninon special is officially being filmed next week and we cannot contain our excitement.

Thanks to an unprecedented global pandemic, Friends fans have had to exercise the patience of a saint in the face of multiple delays for the HBO Max special.

Thankfully, the wait is finally over as Deadline confirms that taping is all set to take place in Los Angeles next week.

It is the first time Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry, Lisa Kudrow, and Matt LeBlanc will all appear on screen together for the first time since Rachel got off the plane.

The news comes days after set designer Greg Grade shared a picture of Monica and Rachel’s (or Monica and Chandler’s, depending on your preference) apartment, indicating that’s where Friends fans will be transported back to when they catch up with the gang.

‘Sssh! Somethings happening, deja vu… coming alive once again!’ Greg captioned the photo, which unsurprisingly, caused his followers to explode with excitement.

The apartment – which in reality Monica would never be able to afford – became a staple stet throughout the entire 10 seasons of Friends, with the final scene following the gang out of the door as Monica and Chandler moved to Westchester County with their newborn twins.

Little is known about the Friends reunion but Ross star David recently confirmed the special will be ‘filmed outside’ due to coronavirus.

He also ruled out speculation Ellen DeGeneres or Billy Crystal would be hosting, leaving James Corden still in the running.

Meanwhile, he all but announced filming plans during Friday’s Graham Norton as the actor revealed he was flying out to LA to film the special.

‘I will get to see everyone for the first time in years,’ he gushed.

Teasing an upcoming surprise, he added: ‘ Nothing is scripted and we are not in character. We are all ourselves, although there is one section of it that I don’t want to give away, but we all read something.’

The Friends Reunion will air on HBO Max in the US.
