Ant and Dec clearly haven’t been disheartened by the few Ofcom complaints they received, cracking a height joke five minutes into Saturday Night Takeaway.

Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly’s family-friendly programme came under fire last week after a string of jokes about Dec’s height and risqué remarks as Cat Deeley reunited with her former Chums co-stars.

The episode received 96 complaints with the television watchdog confirming they were about ‘a few different issues including the innuendos used and height jokes.’

However, the pair weren’t discouraged, with Ant this week making a cheeky gag about Dec after comic Mo Gilligan admitted how thrilled he was to be on one of the biggest shows on TV.

‘He’s just happy to be the biggest anything!’ he quipped.

Later on in the show, Britain’s Got Talent winner Jon Courtenay, who was Ant and Dec’s Golden Buzzer act, also got in on the laughs, as he sang of the pair: ‘Life is short and so are they.’

Meanwhile, we weren’t short on innuendos either, with Stephen Mulhern being dressed as a huge trophy and being asked what the ‘knob’ on his head was all about.

However, viewers haven’t seemed too upset with the jokes, instead left in stitches at Mo Farah being pranked on their ‘Get Out of Me Ear’ segment.

The Olympian and I’m A Celebrity star was seen interviewing potential babysitters for his children – while completing ridiculous tasks for the pair.

At one point, he had to convince an interviewee to ‘drink his sweat’ (thankfully not his actual sweat), get another to chase him around the living room, and encourage one to keep him on the ‘naughty step’.

One particularly eye-watering moment saw him plunge into a freezing ice bath, with fans hailing him a ‘national treasure’.

It was the last episode of the 17th series of Saturday Night Takeaway, and fans are keen for the pair to return.

ITV has yet to announce whether we’ll be blessed with more episodes, but seeing as last weekend’s instalment commanded an incredible 8.5million viewers, we’re expecting Ant and Dec to make a return to the stage soon.

Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway is available on catch-up on ITV Hub.
