Black Widow trailer drops as Scarlett Johansson’s Natasha Romanoff faces up to Taskmaster in epic showdown

Marvel has released a new action-packed trailer for Black Widow to tide us over until the film’s eventual release.

The movie, in which Scarlett Johansson reprises her role as Natasha Romanoff – aka Black Widow – has been delayed multiple times as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, and is now expected to be released on July 9.

The new trailer has since been shared by Marvel across their social media platforms, and it looks like we’re in for a wild ride.

In the clip, we see Taskmaster go head to head with Natasha in an epic fight, and we also learn a bit more about his relationship with Dreykov (Ray Winston).

We’re also treated to a glimpse of a much younger Natasha, although without her signature red hair.

Now we’re intrigued.

Black Widow is set to be released to Disney+ while simultaneously being released to cinemas.

The film will be shown on Premiere Access, which means fans are required to pay an additional fee to view.

It had already been pushed back three times, originally being due for release on May 1, 2020, before it was moved to November 6, 2020, before then being set to arrive on May 7, 2021.

However, in March it was postponed again until July 9, 2021, so fingers crossed that there will be no more delays.

Alongside Scarlett, Florence Pugh joins the cast as Yelena Belova, a spy from her past, while Rachel Weisz takes on the role of Melina Vostokoff, also known as Iron Maiden.

Stranger Things star David Harbour is also portraying Alexei Shostakov, aka Red Guardian.

Marvel have been keeping Black Widow plot details under wraps, but we do know that the film will focus on Natasha’s movements in between Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War.

It is set to be the first movie in Marvel’s phase four, following the release of Avengers: Endgame, which ended the Infinity Saga.

Black Widow is set to be released to Disney+ and cinemas on July 9, 2021.
