Britney Spears has reportedly denied claims made by her make-up artist that she does not write her own Instagram captions.

The 39-year-old’s social media is back under the microscope following a recent post in which the popstar said she ‘cried for two weeks’ after the documentary Framing Britney Spears.

Britney wrote: ‘My life has always been very speculated … watched … and judged really my whole life !!! For my sanity I need to dance to @iamstevent every night of my life 💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼 to feel wild and human and alive !!! I have been exposed my whole life performing in front of people  😳😳😳 !!! It takes a lot of strength to TRUST the universe with your real vulnerability cause I’ve always been so judged… insulted… and embarrassed by the media… and I still am till this day 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼 !!!!

‘As the world keeps on turning and life goes on we still remain so fragile and sensitive as people !!! I didn’t watch the documentary but from what I did see of it I was embarrassed by the light they put me in … I cried for two weeks and well …. I still cry sometimes !!!! [sic]’

Fans speculated that Britney didn’t write the caption herself, and accused her social media manager Cassie Petrey of penning the words.

Then, Britney’s former make-up artist Billy Brasfield claimed: ‘The content is her, but… the words are NOT how she feels.’

Brasfield, who worked with Britney in 2012 and 2013, alleged to Page Six: ‘I immediately knew it was not her. I texted her about it and she texted me back last night.

‘What was upsetting [about the post] – it was basically a narrative denouncing her fans and the Free Britney movement and people now taking a very conscious look at the facts and what is going on.’

However, the Toxic singer reportedly told TMZ that she never spoke to Billy.

The publication quotes Britney as saying: ‘No, I’m not talking to him at all. I write my posts. I’m not sure who he is talking to, but I am not talking to Billy B.’

This comes after a source told TMZ that Britney’s social media manager had nothing to do with her post about the documentary.

‘Cassie did not craft Britney’s statement about the Hulu documentary, and she wasn’t even aware of Brit’s plan to express herself until the IG post was published,’ the insider said.

‘Britney wrote the caption herself and it was posted the day she wrote it.’

Framing Britney Spears delved into the media’s treatment of Britney as a teenager, before exploring the details behind the conservatorship she has been under since 2008.

The star’s legal team has asked a judge to permanently remove Britney’s father Jamie Spears from his role overseeing her personal and financial affairs, and asks that care professional Jodi Montgomery be made Britney’s sole conservator.

Britney’s lawyer previously told the court she was scared of her father and would not be returning to the stage while he remained in control of her life.
