Saturday Night Takeaway: Will Ant and Dec be back for a new series?

Saturday Night Takeaway is coming to an end, with the finale airing tonight.

Ant and Dec have thrown everything at us for the 17th series, including an iconic prank on their fellow ITV stars, a Chums reunion with Cat Deeley and some dodgy-looking cat poo pizza.

Despite social-distancing meaning the live audience were forced to watch on from home, and some sketches being altered, the pair pulled out all the stops and kept viewers laughing the whole time.

Tonight’s episode will see Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly reunited with Mo Farah for a special I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here reunion with a twist – instead they’ll be putting the Olympian through his paces in a ‘Get Outta My Ear’ segment.

The hosts will also be sharing the ending to their drama, Double Trouble, with Mo Gilligan starring as the special guest announcer.

Will there be another series of Saturday Night Takeaway?

This series of Saturday Night Takeaway kicked off on February 20, with seven weeks of chaotic fun.

ITV has yet to announce whether we’ll be blessed with more episodes, but seeing as last weekend’s instalment commanded an incredible 8.5million viewers, we’re expecting Ant and Dec to make a return to the stage soon.

In recent years, new seasons have always kicked off in February, meaning fans will have a long wait to see what else they’ve been up to.

Thankfully, there’s enough on TV to keep us occupied, with the presenters returning to front Britain’s Got Talent later this year.

What will replace Saturday Night Takeaway?

The big question on all our minds is what will we watch on Saturday nights now?

Thankfully, Vernon Kay is coming in to save our boredom with his new ITV gameshow, Game of Talents.

The show follows contestants and celebrities team up as they try to discover any secret talents members of the public possess, in a bid to win a huge prize.

We’re already majorly obsessed.

TV bosses explained: ‘Each episode will see contestants team up with a celebrity favourite as the pairs work together to try and figure out the surprising and often bizarre hidden talents of eight mystery performers.

‘So, can they really spot the opera singer from the weightlifter, or the acrobat from the fire eater based solely on their appearance and some intriguing clues along the way?

‘Game of Talents merges the excitement of a talent show with all the fun of a gameshow where viewers can play along at home.’

Bring it on.

The Saturday Night Takeaway finale kicks off at 7pm, on ITV.
