The Circle star Vithun Illankovan predicted that Felix was a catfish, and came clean to Andy Smith in unaired footage.

The 23-year-old became the latest player blocked from the Channel 4 competition, with former ‘Circle sibling’ Manrika Khaira and her ‘boyfriend’ Felix – aka Natalya Platonova – opting to send him packing in controversial scenes.

However, chatting to Metro.co.uk, the star confessed that he had already deduced that his co-star wasn’t actually a male paratrooper.

And, while he hadn’t interacted very much with some of his fellow Circlers, Vithun’s conversations with Felix raised some suspicions – and he shared them with Andy.

‘It didn’t come up in the edit, but in my meet with Andy, I told Andy that I thought Felix was a girl,’ he said. ’So even that one I clocked, by that point.’

If someone could just give Manrika the heads up…

Vithun found himself blocked this week after he admitted to making a dig about their relationship in an anonymous game, later coming clean to his pal that he was behind the message.

The official Circle Twitter account blessed us all with a video showing the moment the accountant learned the truth about his fellow players, and realised his hunch was spot on.

‘I was saying Felix was a girl because as soon as Gemma’s reveal got real…,’ he said in the Reveal Room footage.

‘So the whole relationship is a sham! I’ve literally been blocked because of a sham relationship!

‘In some ways I don’t feel bad because I correctly called out the relationship. Even though I did get blocked for it, at least I was open in calling it a sham.

‘It was like two days and suddenly we were supposed to worship Manrika and Felix as some amazing couple, and now I realise it was a sham relationship.’

Fans were left shocked by his exit, and flocked to social media to share their upset – with Vithun’s name trending on Twitter almost instantly.

Speaking about the overwhelmingly positive reaction, he told us: ‘I feel good, I definitely didn’t expect the level of support I’ve got, just because obviously I’m quite introverted.

‘And I definitely didn’t expect the amount of memes that people have made. I didn’t think I was such a meme-able person.

‘I just totally forgot the cameras were there.’

Lifting the lid on his time in the famous flats, he also revealed it could be quite tough being so cut off from everyone else at points.

He added: ‘Then you get yourself very worked up because you’re like, “Oh I need to speak to people because otherwise I’m going to fall down the ratings”.

‘And I think that’s what eventually happened.’

The Circle continues on Sunday, at 10pm on Channel 4, with all episodes available to catch up on All4.
