Jason Sudeikis made an important statement as he wore a Gucci jumper bearing a feminist slogan at the virtual Screen Actors Guild Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday night.

The Ted Lasso star, 45, raised eyebrows at the Golden Globes in February after donning a tie-dye hoodie for a virtual appearance at the event which usually sees attendees decked out in formalwear.

And his latest sartorial choice also caught the attention of viewers as he wore a Gucci jumper emblazoned with the words ‘My Body My Choice,’ a reference to women’s reproductive rights.

While the pullover does not appear to be available on Gucci’s official website, it can still be bought elsewhere online for £650.

Keeping in theme, his previous virtual awards show outfits also had messages behind them.

The Golden Globes hoodie publicised his sister’s New York City dance studio while the top he wore to the Critics’ Choice Awards in March referenced the fictional high school featured in 2019 comedy Booksmart.

The film was directed by his former partner and mother of his two children Olivia Wilde.

In Apple TV+ series Ted Lasso, Sudeikis plays an American football coach placed in charge of a Premier League team.

And Jason received plenty of praise for his fashion choice as the awards aired.

One person tweeted: ‘@jasonsudeikis knowing people are going to be looking out for what he’s wearing and then wearing a ‘My body, my choice’ sweater.

‘The man deserves a round of applause for MULTIPLE reasons. Congrats on the well deserved award and for just being a good human.’

Another person was keen to find out where he got his jumper, writing: ‘Where can I get @jasonsudeikis’ sweater?’

While anothe impressed fan simply wrote: ‘Jason Sudeikis wearing my body my choice, omg.’

The news comes as The Crown, Daniel Kaluuya and Anya Taylor-Joy were among the top winners at the SAG Awards this year.

While the awards ceremony was held virtually due to the coronavirus pandemic, it was still just as star-studded as ever.

The late Chadwick Boseman won another posthumous award, taking outstanding performance by a male actor in a leading role for his turn as Levee Green in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.

His widow Taylor Simone accepted the award on his behalf and led by giving his parents a nod, saying: ‘Thank you, God. Thank you Leroy and Carolyn Boseman.’

She continued: ‘Thank you [playwright] August Wilson. Thank you [director] George C. Wolfe, Denzel [Washington], Todd Black, Ruben Santiago-Hudson, Branford Marsalis. Thank you Viola [Davis] and Glynn [Turman] and Michael [Potts] and Colman [Domingo] and Taylour [Paige] and Dusan [Brown] and Jeremy Shamos and Jonathan Coyne.

‘“If you see the world imbalanced, be a crusader that pushes heavily on the seesaw on the mind”. That’s a quote by Chadwick Boseman. Thank you Screen Actors. Thank you, Chad.’
