The Big Bang Theory’s Kaley Cuoco takes SAG Awards loss like a champ in hilarious behind-the-scenes video

Kaley Cuoco showed us she’s no sore loser after documenting her day preparing to appear as a nominee at Sunday’s Screen Actor’s Guild Awards – and the subsequent moment after she lost.

The Big Bang Theory star was up for two awards – female actor in a comedy series, and ensemble in a comedy series – for her role in The Flight Attendant but unfortunately went home (or stayed home, rather) empty-handed.

No big deal with the KC, though, who wasted no time in retreating to her bed, champagne bottle in hand, to catch up on her favourite TV show, Schitt’s Creek, proving this is how you do awards ceremonies right in 2021.

The star-studded ceremony was held virtually on Sunday evening due to the coronavirus pandemic (seems the norm now, non?), but it was still just as glittery as ever, with Kaley gracing the Zoom chat in a resplendent bright pink Prabal Gurung gown.

Sharing with fans on Instagram her hair and make-up prep, the star uploaded many a behind-the-scenes look as she got gussied up for the awards Zoom (with her laptop propped up on some Game Of Thrones merch to boot).

With her hair swished back into a chic bun the star beamed in a selfie she took of the nominee-chat she was a guest of honour in, alongside Catherine O’Hara, who won for her role in Schitt’s Creek.

Kaley congratulated Catherine in her social media snap and clearly feeling like she needed to keep the good times going, she headed straight to bed once the formalities were over to catch up on the series.

Waltzing into her boudoir still dressed to the nines in her couture, Kaley mused: ‘Okay, SAG Awards are over. Now, I can get back to my favourite show.’

Of course we gobbled up her hilarious content with a spoon as punters commented on the clip, with the awards (well, the nifty social media whizz behind it) writing: ‘Living for this and you!’

The account for Schitt’s Creek also didn’t miss the shout-out to Kaley – who soon changed out of her gown and into a ‘strange bedshirt’ – as it chimed in: ‘Honoured.’

It’s not the first time the star has shared a giggle-worthy peek behind the curtain of her 2021 awards season, after taking her Golden Globes loss like a trooper earlier this year.

Back in SAG land, it was a big night for Kaley’s favourite sitcom, which also won outstanding performance by an ensemble in a comedy series.

Meanwhile, Chadwick Boseman won another posthumous award, taking outstanding performance by a male actor in a leading role for his turn as Levee Green in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.

His widow Taylor Simone accepted the award on his behalf and led by giving his parents a shout-out, saying: ‘Thank you, God. Thank you Leroy and Carolyn Boseman.’

Boseman’s co-star Viola Davis also won outstanding performance by a female actor in a leading role for her role as the titular jazz singer – and literally fell off her seat after being announced as the winner.

Daniel Kaluuya accepted his award for playing Fred Hampton in Judas and the Black Messiah, while Gillian Anderson scooped outstanding performance by a female actor in a drama series for her performance as Margaret Thatcher in The Crown (which also took outstanding performance by an ensemble in a drama series).
