Celebrity Bake Off 2021: Anneka Rice wins star baker in last episode of spin-off series
Great Celebrity Bake Off crowned Anneka Rice star baker in tonight’s final episode of the series.
The television presenter impressed judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith to beat the likes of Girls Aloud’s Nadine Coyle, basketball player-turned-presenter Ade Adepitan, and comedian John Bishop in the famous white tent.
Anneka was stunned by the judges’ verdict as host Matt Lucas revealed the results, gasping: ‘Oh my God. Are you sure?
She added: ‘I can’t believe what’s just happened. I literally can’t believe what’s just happened.’
Nadine, who sent the internet into a frenzy with her pronounciation of the word ‘flour’, was pleased about her co-star’s victory.
‘Anneka was absolutely a deserving winner, she was amazing throughout,’ she enthused.
Meanwhile Ade was thrilled to be leaving the show with a new skill.
‘I now know how to bake,’ he said. ‘I can drop that at any time or any dinner party.’
In tonight’s episode, the celebrities were tasked to attempt decorative choux buns in the signature.
They were then challenged with tackling financiers in the technical before making a showstopping cake that represented something from their bucket list.
Anneka joins a list of fellow star bakers who also stormed the spin-off competition with their baking.
Actor James McAvoy alsothe title, along with Little Mix’s Jade Thirwall, X Factor’s Alexandra Burke and comedian Reece Shearsmith.
