Eamonn Holmes was ‘a trooper’ during Celebrity Juice appearance ahead of hospital struggles
Eamonn Holmes was ‘a trooper’ as he filmed for Celebrity Juice last week, despite battling chronic pain.
The This Morning host went to hospital last week to seek treatment for his condition, after revealing he was suffering sleepless nights in agony.
And ITV2 stars Emily Atack and Keith Lemon heaped praise on the 61-year-old for sticking out his time on the gameshow panel.
Chatting to Metro.co.uk ahead of the return of Celebrity Juice, the pair were giving us the gossip on the new guest stars we’ll get to see in series 25.
Keith told us: ‘Eamonn was on last week. I know he’s not a new one but he was a trooper wasn’t he?’
Emily agreed: ‘He’s just the best. He’s in a bit of pain at the moment, bless him, but he was a trooper, and he was a great laugh.’
‘There were some bits where he was like, “I don’t what’s going on here?”. “What’s the situation,” she laughed while attempting his accent.
‘Oh, he’s just so lovely. I just adore Eamonn. I actually found it the hardest not hugging him out of everyone.’
As well as Eamonn, a string of fresh faces have graced the ITV2 series for the new season, which kicks off on Thursday, including Sophie Ellis Bexter and Ella Henderson, while Maya Jama was announced as a regular panellist alongside team captains Emily and Laura Whitmore.
Keith continued: ‘There’s a lot of new people, isn’t there?
‘You’d have thought Sophie Ellis Bexter would have been on, because I’ve known Sophie Ellis Bexter for years.
‘I was in disbelief that she’d not been on. She was fun.’
We’re already living for the new episodes.
Eamonn has had a tough few weeks, as he continues to battle chronic pain.
He sparked concern recently when he tweeted a snap from a hospital waiting room, as he sought treatment for the issues.
Appearing on Monday’s instalment of This Morning, he explained that it was sparked from back pain which gradually got worse.
‘So this chronic pain business, if you’ve been following my Twitter page, a month ago, I hurt my back,’ he told worried ITV viewers.
‘I didn’t really do anything, it got worse and worse and worse, and it turned into chronic pain.
‘And basically, from the point of view that I literally could not sleep at night – night time was the absolute worst.’
Fingers crossed he’s able to get the help he needs.
The brand new series of Celebrity Juice starts on Thursday, at 10pm, on ITV2.
