Game of Thrones star Pilou Asbaek has spoken about the legacy of the show as it turns 10, saying that fans have only just stopped giving him hate for his role as Euron Greyjoy.

The actor, who starred as the villainous King of the Iron Islands on the massively popular HBO drama, looked back on a decade of the hit show with a new message for fans.

Pilot wrote on Instagram: ’10 year anniversary!!!??? Goddamnit!!! People just stopping giving me hate for #eurongreyjoy.’

Game of Thrones first aired back in 2011 and went on to become one of the most popular series of all time. Pilou joined the show in 2016 for the show’s sixth season.

The actor added a message of thanks for the makers of the show, writing: ‘Well…ok then…congratulations to a beautiful #ironanniversary #gameofthrones and THANK YOU for changing my life #forever.’

Euron quickly became one of the characters fans loved to hate on the show, after marrying Cersei Lanister and leading House Greyjoy into battle against Daenerys Targaryen.

Meanwhile, it was recently reported that Game Of Thrones is moving from Westeros to the West End in a new play written by George RR Martin.

The author, who created the world of the Seven Kingdoms, will be adding to the increasing Westeros franchise with the project.

Other shows on the way includes the upcoming House Of The Dragon, and at least five other TV projects.

Game of Thrones is available to watch on Sky Atlantic and Now.
