Matt Gaetz admits he’s ‘not a monk’ after sex-trafficking claims but insists ‘DC swamp is like the mafia’ out to get him

MATT Gaetz admitted he’s “not a monk” amid a sex-trafficking scandal, but insisted that the “DC swamp is like the mafia” out to get him.

The Florida representative made the claims in a new column, where he strongly denied ever paying for sex or being involved with a teen girl, as allegations have claimed.

News broke last week that Gaetz was being investigated by the Justice Department, and multiple scandalous allegations have come out since.

Gaetz, however, has insisted that the stories are just that — and are being perpetuated by people who are out to get him.

“Washington scandal cycles are predictable, and sex is especially potent in politics,” Gaetz, 38, said in his guest column for the Washington Examiner.

“Let me first remind everyone that I am a representative in Congress, not a monk, and certainly not a criminal.

He want on to call Nancy Pelosi a hypocrite for defending Bill Clinton and slam New York Gov Andrew Cuomo for the sexual harassment allegations against him, before again denying ever being involved in anything illegal.

He claimed that the allegations against him are coming out because he has made it clear that he “loathes the swamp and fights both sides of it on a daily basis.”

The big-time Donald Trump supporter then compared politicians to the mob, coming after him for creating problems for important members.

“Yes, just like the mafia, the D.C. swamp protects its ‘made men,’” he continued.

“Since I’m taking my turn under the gun, let me address the allegations against me directly. First, I have never, ever paid for sex. And second, I, as an adult man, have not slept with a 17-year-old.”

He went on to say he will not be resigning, and slammed Joe Biden‘s administration for its Justice Department.

“The Biden Justice Department would rather investigate me for adult, consensual sex than Hunter Biden for his shady business dealings, than others for illegal leaks, or a former Justice Department official for the evident extortion of a congressman. Go figure.”

Initial reports said that Gaetz was being investigated by the Justice Department for charges related to sex-trafficking and being involved with a 17-year-old girl.

Since then, other allegations have come forth, like that he and his jailed pal Joel Greenberg would pay sugar babies for drug-fueled romps, and that he and other Florida lawmakers played a “Harry Potter game” where points were allotted for sleeping with different women, including colleagues and married women.

Gaetz has maintained that the stories accusing him of underage sex and prostitution are actually part of an extortion plot being carried out by a former Air Force official.

The Florida Republican claimed that former Air Force intelligence officer Robert Kent was trying to get the Gaetz family to fund a rescue mission for Robert Levinson, an American hostage in Iran.

The Gaetz family has claimed that Kent contacted the rep’s father, Don Gaetz, and suggested if they were to help fund the rescue mission, it could lead to a pardon for Matt for an undisclosed crime.

However, Kent told the New York Times that he was not trying to extort the family, but had simply heard a rumor that the younger Gaetz may be under investigation.

“I told him I’m not trying to extort, but if this were true, he might be interested in doing something good,” he said.
