Piers Morgan has claimed Princess Diana would be ‘horrified’ by Prince Harry cutting ties with his brother Prince Williams and ‘smearing’ the Queen.

The 55-year-old has continued his tirade against Harry and Meghan Markle, this time appearing to speak for the Duke of Sussex’s late mother during his candid chat with conservative Fox presenter Tucker Carson in his first televised interview since quitting Good Morning Britain.

Piers accused Meghan of launching a ’smear’ campaign against the Royal family during the couple’s tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey, and called Prince Harry a ‘brat’.

‘What’s happened to that guy?’ asked Piers. ‘He’s turned into this whiny brat. In his mid-thirties, complaining that his dad isn’t still financing everything that he does. Complaining that he was cut off by daddy and his millions.

‘Actually that wasn’t true either – it turns out Prince Charles had carried on financing him.

‘And remember Harry inherited millions when his mother died.’

He continued: ‘You know I knew Princess Diana well. I think she would be horrified by the split between Harry and his brother.

‘She would be horrified by the schism now between Harry and the Royal family generally and by the appalling smearing of the queen which is already causing damage in some of the commonwealth countries.’

During the bombshell interview with Oprah, Harry said his mother ‘would feel very angry with how this has panned out’ but stressed ‘ ultimately, all she’d ever want is for us to be happy.’

‘I brought what my mum left me,’ he continued. ‘And without that, we would not have been able to do this, so touching back on what my mother would think of this, I think she saw it coming. I certainly felt her presence throughout this whole process.’

Piers quit Good Morning Britain after 41,000 people complained over his accusations that Meghan lied about feeling suicidal.

During his chat with Tucker, he only doubled down on his remarks further.

‘You’re accusing two people in the palace of being unspeakably cruel simply to protect the brand of the Royal family,’ he said. ‘If that is true let’s have the names of these people and let’s go to them and ask them is this true.

‘”Did you tell a suicidal woman, who told you she was suicidal, not to get help?” Because I find that impossible to believe.’

Following Harry and Meghan’s interview, Queen Elizabeth issued a statement, specifically addressing claims a member of the family aired concerns over the colour of Harry and Meghan’s son Archie’s skin colour, which read: ‘The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan.

‘The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. Whilst some recollections may vary, they are taken very seriously and will be addressed by the family privately. Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much loved family members.’
