Emotions ran high on The Circle on Tuesday evening, when star of the show Manrika broke down in tears after missing her mum.

Manrika, who has emerged as one of the most popular players on the Channel 4 reality show over recent weeks, was suffering from a bad case of homesickness on the most recent episode.

Speaking about missing her family, Manrika began a private chat with Dot (who is really Scott) and said she reminds her of her mum in a candid moment.

‘The longest i’ve ever gone without speaking to her [before now] is about three days,’ Manrika said.

After breaking into tears, Manrika spoke about her mum being the ‘the most important person in my life’ in touching scenes.

‘She’s my biggest motivation in life,’ Manrika added as she struggled to keep her emotions in check.

Dot sent words of encouragement her way, which helped Manrika feel better.

‘It feels like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders. It’s crazy,’ Manrika said.

It’s not the first time that the contestant has broken down in tears on the show, after her emotions got the better during a conversation with Syed as players began to turn against Andy Smith.

Get the popcorn out – it’s all kicking off.

After Vithun’s blocking, tensions were high, with Manrika and Andy not being sure where they stood with each other.

As the final gets closer and closer, Manrika is joined in the final week by Andy, Hashu (playing as Syed), Scott (playing as Dorothy), Natalya Platonova (playing as Freddie), Pippa and Joey (playing as Tom) and Shabaz (playing as Alice).

The rest of the episode also saw the remaining players rate each other, as tensions began to rise.

The rankings revealed that the players had put Felix into fifth place in the rankings. In fourth place was Dorothy, in third was Andy and Manrika and Syed were in joint first.

It meant Manrika and Syed were made influencers and given the decision of who to block, with Manrika saying it was the ‘hardest blocking yet’.

Who will be the next to leave? Find out in the next episode.

The Circle continues on Wednesday at 10am on Channel 4.
