A records check found that both men were on a government watchlist for terrorism.

They also were on a no-fly list.

Such a list includes people who are “known to be or reasonably suspected of being involved in terrorist activities,” writes the FBI.

According to the CBP, the men within just three miles of the port of entry.

“Part of the Border Patrol’s mission states we will protect the country from terrorists,” said Chief Patrol Agent Gregory K. Bovino.

“Today, like every other day, our agents did that,” Bovino continued.

“These apprehensions at our border illustrate the importance of our mission and how we can never stop being vigilant in our everyday mission to protect this great country.”

The men’s entry comes as the Biden Administration faces continued scrutiny over its border situation.

In March, a number of Republican Congress members visited the border in what Democrats have called a stunt.
