Warning: spoilers ahead for episode three of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.

Daniel Brühl, one of the stars of Marvel’s The Falcon and The Winter Soldier on Disney Plus, has revealed that there’s actually a longer version of Baron Helmut Zemo’s iconic dance scene – and we’re going to need some proof.

In episode three of the new Marvel series, former prison inmate Zemo heads to the fictional island of Madripoor with Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) and Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie).

While in the lawless region, the trio try their best to blend in with the crowd, with Zemo landing in the middle of the dancefloor in a club, fist-pumping to the music in what can only be described as the Marvel villain equivalent of dad dancing.

The short clip of Zemo partying it up has since done the rounds on social media, becoming one of the most iconic moments of the show so far.

But it turns out that there’s even more footage of the Sokovian Baron cutting shapes on the dancefloor that didn’t make the cut, as Daniel revealed during a recent interview.

Describing the plethora of Zemo dance gifs and memes as ‘hysterical’, the actor explained that his groovy moment was completely ‘improvised’ in the moment ‘when I saw the crowd dancing, going loco’.

‘I felt the beat and was like, Zemo has been sitting in a dodgy German prison cell for years. So, he needs to let off some steam and show his moves. Let’s go for it!’ he told Entertainment Weekly.

Saying that he ‘enjoyed’ seeing the reactions of Sebastian and Anthony as they watched him dance, he added that he ‘was 100% sure that they would cut it out’ of the episode.

‘I was really surprised and happy that they kept it. It was a long dance. There’s more to it, but they cut this little moment,’ he said.

Once the episode aired, he ‘received all these messages from my friends cracking up’, the actor recalled.

According to Daniel, his friends know him as ‘an embarrassing, passionate dancer’, whose own moves would likely ‘be the Spanish side of me kicking in and doing some matador, flamenco moves, going down on my knees’.

And now we can’t get the image of Zemo performing flamenco flicks out of our heads. Oh how spectacular that would be.

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is available to watch on Disney Plus with new episodes released on Fridays.
