How to add automatic captions to your TikTok videos

TIKTOK has finally created an automatic captions feature.

Currently, TikTok creators have to manually add captions to their videos but soon they’ll be able to use a tool which can do this for them.

TikTok has only just announced the automatic captions feature but it may take a while to rollout to everyone.

It will be avaliable in American English and Japanese initally.

The company plans to bring out more language options in the coming months.

TikTok explained on a blogpost: “This feature will initially be available in American English and Japanese, with additional language support in the coming months.

“We are working with our community to spread the word and encourage all creators to use auto captions and other features that make content more accessible.”

How to add automatic captions to TikTok videos

TikTok’s automatic captions feature will appear on the editing page once you’ve uploaded or recorded a video.

You’ll just need to click on the auto captions icon and then double check it’s correct.

The automatically transcribed text will display on the video and you’ll be able to edit the captions once they’re generated.

Viewers will also be able to turn the captions off with their own new icon.

You may need to update your app to see the new feature.
