JoJo Siwa has explained why she doesn’t want to label her sexuality after coming out as gay, but revealed she identifies as pansexual.

The superstar YouTube star recently opened up about her sexuality, and introduced her girlfriend Kylie Prew to fans this year.

Speaking about life after she came out, the 17-year-old musician explained to People magazine: ‘I still don’t know what I am. It’s like, I want to figure it out. And I have this joke. Her name is Kylie. And so I say that I’m Ky-sexual.

‘But like, I don’t know, bisexual, pansexual, queer, lesbian, gay, straight. I always just say gay because it just kind of covers it or queer because I think the keyword is cool.’

She continued: ‘I like queer. Technically I would say that I am pansexual because that’s how I have always been my whole life is just like, my human is my human.’

The star also opened up her relationship with Kylie as she added: ‘She never cares what the internet said about us. It’s nice to have somebody in my life like that.’

JoJo explained how she never wanted her coming out to be ‘big deal’ but has been extremely grateful for the public support she has received from others in the industry.

In response to the praise she’s received from the likes Elton John, Meghan Trainor, Kerry Washington, she stated: ‘I’ve never gotten this much support from the world. I think this is the first time that I’ve felt so personally happy.

‘Performing has always made me super happy. But for the first time, personally, I am like, whoa, happiness. I am so proud to be me.’

As for the haters, JoJo stated: ‘My thing is, I don’t want people to watch my videos or buy my merchandise if they aren’t going to support not only me, but the LGBTQ community.’

Speculation was sparked about JoJo’s sexuality when she lip-synced along to Lady Gaga’s song Born This Way while wearing a rainbow outfit.

When fans pointed out that no one should label the teen’s sexuality until she wanted to, she came out a few days later, wearing a T-shirt she’d been gifted that read: ‘Best gay cousin ever.’

The star then spoke out about her girlfriend Kylie, who she was best friends with for a year before dating, and shared snaps as the pair celebrated their first Valentine’s Day together.
