Joss Whedon is alleged to have ‘threatened to ruin’ Gal Gadot’s career after she raised concerns over the depiction of her character Wonder Woman in Justice League.

Ray Fisher – who played Cyborg in the Warner Bros/DC film – spoke out against the filmmaker, who took the reins from Zack Snyder for the 2017 movie, previously levelling allegations at both Whedon as well as Warners executives.

In a new profile, he doubles down on his claims while other sources also allege Whedon ‘pushed’ star Gadot to record lines she wasn’t keen on, after raising concern about Wonder Woman being ‘too aggressive’ compared to her standalone films.

While Fisher declined to comment on the claims regarding Gadot, The Hollywood Reporter cites a ‘witness on the production’ who says that the Buffy creator ‘threatened to harm Gadot’s career and disparaged Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins’.

It claimed a source said: ‘Joss was bragging that he’s had it out with Gal. He told her he’s the writer and she’s going to shut up and say the lines and he can make her look incredibly stupid in this movie.’

Gadot and Jenkins then reportedly ‘went to battle’ and had a meeting with then-Warners chairman Kevin Tsujihara. In a statement to the publication, Gadot said: ‘I had my issues with [Whedon] and Warner Bros. handled it in a timely manner.’

Cyborg actor Fisher first spoke out against Whedon last June, when he tweeted a clip of himself at San Diego Comic Con in 2017.

On a Justice League panel, the actor said: ‘Joss is a great guy and Zack picked a great person to come in and clean up – and finish up for him.’

He later tweeted: ‘I’d like to take a moment to forcefully retract every bit of this statement’.

A couple of days later, he claimed on Twitter: ‘Joss Whedon’s on-set treatment of the cast and crew of Justice League was gross, abusive, unprofessional and completely unacceptable. He was enabled, in many ways, by Geoff Johns and Jon Berg. Accountability>Entertainment.’

Berg previously addressed Fisher’s claims, telling Variety that it is ‘categorically untrue that we enabled any unprofessional behavior’ while Justice League was in production. Johns and Hamada have not addressed the allegations.

Other stars including Sarah Michelle Gellar, Charisma Carpenter, and Amber Benson have also spoken out against Whedon. Stunt coordinator Jeff Pruitt and Gellar’s stunt double, Sophie Crawford, opened up to Metro.co.uk about their experience on set and labelled him an ‘egomaniac’.

The filmmaker has not yet commented on the allegations.

Metro.co.uk contacted Whedon’s reps for comment.
