Manny Pacquiao and Deontay Wilder rank among the most renowned faces of boxing. Both have hung around the sport for a substantial while and have entertained a sea of audiences with their prolific skill sets. But the duo has maintained a lackluster run in the sport past a few years, even though they display a sublime boxing resume.

Recently, the WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman shed some light on both Wilder and Pacquiao’s futures. He spoke to SiriusXM and detailed what is next for both the bigwigs.

Manny Pacquiao didn’t compete for the whole of 2020. But his comeback fight is being discussed alongside Terence Crawford. And if that fight actually takes place, needless to say, it’ll be an eye-catchy contest for 2021.

On the flip side, Wilder hasn’t stepped in the ring ever since he lopsided to a defeat against Tyson Fury. He’s expressed his inquisitiveness to face the ‘Gypsy King’. But the latter has moved on to compete for the undisputed title.

Citing this scenario, it seems Wilder will have to take anyone else in the line to make himself viable for a shot against Tyson Fury.

Whereas, the Filippino Senator will have to score a ‘W’ to bring back his boxing stint on track.

That said, both Wilder and Pacquiao should look to stage all of their fights in the mightiest way possible from hereon.

This can only happen once they end up getting inside the ring with stout contenders to test their brilliance.

However, there’s no confirmation from their teams pertaining to their retirement. Yet it’ll be interesting to see how things play out for both the legends in 2021.
