Ashley Cain has shared a heartbreaking update on his baby daughter Azaylia’s battle with leukaemia, revealing she may have just days left to live.

The footballer and Ex On The Beach star, 30, took to Instagram to share the new developments in Azaylia’s battle with fans, revealing that they had been off Instagram for a few days due to finding out that her results were not good.

He explained: ‘So last week we had the bone marrow test and the lumbar puncture and bloods taken to send to Singapore in the hope that they could create therapy to save Azaylia’s life.

‘Then we had to have a CT scan on her head and the results came back the next day to say she’s got two very big leukaemia tumours on her brain.

‘They also said that the chemotherapy that is usually given to treat leukaemia in the spine or on the brain will not be available because she has too much pressure with these tumours.

‘If they even tried to go through the spinal tap it would kill her. At that point obviously our world came down.’

Ashley and girlfriend Safiyya had been hoping to travel to Singapore with Azaylia for her to have a year-long course of treatment in the hope of saving her life, having raised over £1.5million in donations towards her care

He revealed that they had had devastating news from doctors, adding: ‘Consultants said that they think she’s only got one, two days to live, it could even be that night.’

Azaylia was taken home where she was receiving palliative care, but Ashley says being in her own environment and having her pain relief reduced brightened her up and they had hoped that they may make the trip to Singapore after all.

They received more devastating news when doctors in Singapore told them they would not be able to do the treatment as her cancer is too rare, and the couple are now out of options.

Ashley and Safiyya had been fighting to try every option they could to save Azaylia’s life but her complicated case meant nothing more could be done to cure her leukaemia.

Ashley revealed: ‘We had a scan yesterday and the results came back today that they found tumours in her stomach and spleen, her lungs and her kidneys as well as the tumours in her brain and the chemotherapy is not working.

‘Her disease is that aggressive that nothing that they are doing, nothing is working.

‘And then to make it worse, consultants got an email from Singapore and because Azaylia is one in a trillion – she literally is she’s so special – but unfortunately so is her disease, so in Singapore they can’t create what they need to treat her leukaemia.’

The couple are again taking Azaylia home and are planning to make the most of the time they have left together, adding: ‘For the last part of her life I just want to take her home. See her like a baby and give her the best rest of her life ever.’
